In this interactive boundary-crossing live performance, Austrian artists Sonja Stummerer and Martin Hablesreiter explore the relationship between food (over)consumption and the reaction of the body both as a physiological phenomenon and an artistic display. They challenge the audience to interact with their own digestive tract and their individual bodily functions. The artists' bodies are at the guests' disposal during the performance. EAT THAT!

We consist of our food. Every molecule that people eat is part of the body for about 7 years. We shape our body with our selection of calories and food. For several decades, this process of body design has been an essential topic for Western societies. And it is gaining in significance. Yet there is nothing more symbolic, holier, more cultural than eating. Eating equals morality. In this performance we work with body and mind, with old, new and future myths about the absorption of nature and its transformation into culture. Ultimately, nature and culture meet in the human stomach.
